Palm Annouches Pixi Smartphone

Palm has confirmed the availability of their second WebOS smartphone in the form of the Palm Pixi (previously known as Palm Eos or Palm Pixie). See the video inside the post.

The candybar handset features a 2.63-inch (320×400) touchscreen display with a 2-megapixel camera with fixed focus, LED flash, a full QWERTY keyboard, and access to the Palm Beta App Catalog, which includes applications for entertainment and social networking like iLike’s Local Concerts and Yelp. The Pixi also has a durable and scratch-resistant rubberized back cover. The Palm Pixi comes with Palm Synergy, which links your information from Google, Exchange ActiveSync, Facebook, Yahoo! and LinkedIn. Other features include a GPS receiver, a Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, a 8GB of storage, and a 3.5mm Jack. Unfortunately, the Palm Pixi doesn’t support WiFi connectivity, which is very important feature. Sprint is offering the Palm Pre for only $149.99 (after a $150 instant rebate, a $100 mail-in rebate and with a 2-years contract agreement).
