Dell Venue Android 2.2 phone is announced

The younger sibling of the Windows Phone 7 Dell Venue Pro, the Dell Venue has been announced and the Android OS isn’t the only change. The announcement was done by the Korean carrier KT, and while the remake was expected, a lot of people weren’t expecting for the external keyboard to be removed. It’s not that the virtual keyboard is all you can now use for typing, but our excitement goes down as the design doesn’t look that classy, and the attraction of a large keyboard-device is lost.

The phone should officially launch in Korea this month, and it is made of 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a curved Gorilla glass toughened display, and will run on Android 2.2 Froyo. As most of the blogs already mentioned, the Dell Venue is almost similar to the Dell Venue Pro, so the other specifications like the 800 x 480 pixels screen resolution, the 5-megapixel camera would match too. The camera comes with an ability to capture videos of 720p quality too. The only thing you are missing is the external slide-out keyboard
No official announcement was made on the connectivity options, though an FCC filling in October hinted at support for GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA.
The Dell Venue Pro was recently launched with Windows Phone 7 OS, and was hit with WiFi issues too. But the issue was later resolved and Dell replaced handsets with that problem.
