Motorola Defy has been released for Indian market

Motorola announced to release yet another Google Android mobile Phone ‘Motorola Defy’ in India. Motorola claims that the phone is ready for rugged use and it is water and scratch resistant as well as dustproof. The Motorola Defy runs on the Android 2.1 Éclair Operating System and it may be upgraded with Google Android 2.2 Froyo very soon. It is a slim, lightweight, powerful and also a durable mobile phone. The handset has matte black backing and a glossy screen that is made of Gorilla Glass.

The Motorola Defy comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display which supports a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. The handset offers a 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom, LED flash, geo tagging and autofocus feature. User can also add real-time colour effects with its image optimization feature. You can also record videos at 30 fps. It also has a virtual QWERTY keyboard. The handset has some connectivity features like Bluetooth 2.1, WLAN, GPS, a micro USB and 3.5 mm headset jack. The phone integrates a 1540 mAh standard battery that offers continuous talk time up to 6.8 hours as well as standby time of up to 9.9 days.

The Motorola Defy is powered by an 800 Mhz Texas Instruments OMAP 3610 processor. The phone also includes 512 MB RAM as well as 2 GB internal shared memory. The memory of handset can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD memory card. It also has MOTOBLUR user interface with Live Widgets and Pinch to Zoom application. The Motorola Defy will be available at the retail counter of Indian market at price of Rs. 18,500. The handset will be available in two colours black and white.
