ZTE launches Blade droid-phone

China-based ZTE Corp plans a big push into the smartphone market in 2011. And its strategy largely centers around Google’s mobile operating system Android.

The company also plans to launch devices costing as little as $100 which can create a big buzz in cost-driven markets such as India.

Samsung launches GALAXY S II

Samsung has revealed their thinnest smartphone “Galaxy S II” measuring 8.49 mm only running on Android 2.3.

Samsung was sweet to give us two lovely devices in this event in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress. First the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and now Galaxy S II; The later will be running on Gingerbread and will be released on either T-Mobile or AT&T.

HTC ChaCha and Salsa ‘social phones’ feature Facebook buttons

Samsung Wave 578: NFC Enabled Bada Phone

Although, Samsung is doing real good with Android the company is not giving up on its very own Bada mobile operating system, as they have made yet another addition to the existing range of Bada products. It is the new Samsung Wave 578 (GT-S5780) which is a mid-range device but surprisingly comes with NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities.

Sony PlayStation Phone Officially Launching at MWC

Sony Ericsson will officially unveil its highly anticipated ‘PlayStation phone’ at Mobile World Congress this year.

Nokia E7 business phone released

Finland’s Nokia has announced that its E7 business smartphone has begun shipping in selected markets as of today, hopefully giving the company a little shot in the arm as it gears up for a life-or-death battle with the broader mobile phone and smartphone industry. And the E7 is sure pretty so look at, with a 4-inch AMOLED display, full QWERTY keypad, 16 GB of onboard memory, HDMI output, and an 8 megapixel camera capable of capturing high-definition video. But is the E7 enough to capture the attention of the business smartphone market in the face of competition from the likes of HTC, BlackBerry, Motorola, and Apple?
