New mobile phones announcements

LG Optimus 3D will be shown on the MWC

LG has announced that they will unveil the LG Optimus Black at the 2011 Mobile World Congress. The Optimus Black, LG says, is the world’s first fully 3D smartphone and will put the 3D experience right in the palm of the consumer’s hand.

“The LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue — one of the biggest problems facing the 3D market — with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device.” said LG in the statement.

The LG Optimus Black is the first smartphone with 3D technology. You’ll be able to view 3D content anytime and anywhere with this new mobile tool. The 3D LCD panel conveniently eliminates the need to wear glasses. The panel’s separate layers display different images to each eye to create the 3D effect. Its variety of connections, such as an HDMI port and the ability for DLNA streaming video, will make sharing content with tablets or HDTVs simple. This new technological element will open up a whole new market for 3D smartphone apps and games. Its exclusive features will definitely change the smartphone market.

Although details are sparse, the phone will potentially run Google’s Android OS. Vodaphone and 3 are rumored to carry the LG Optimus Black, which is expected to be available in the UK by summer.
