Samsung SCH-R910 4G LTE phone passed to the FCC

MetroPCS has quietly expanded its 4G LTE network to cover 13 markets across the US, including New York City, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Today, Samsung passed a device called the SCH-R910 through the FCC that will leverage MetroPCS’s growing 4G coverage.

The SCH-R910 appears to have a similar form factor as Samsung’s popular Galaxy S phones. According to Phone Arena, the device will rock a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, 5MP camera and Android 2.2. FCC documents also indicate that the SCH-R910 will feature Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, along with support for MetroPCS’ CDMA/EvDO 850, 1900 bands and the company’s 1700 AWS LTE network.

No word on pricing or a release date, but today’s FCC filing is a good indication that the device will launch soon
