Samsung launches GALAXY S II

Samsung has revealed their thinnest smartphone “Galaxy S II” measuring 8.49 mm only running on Android 2.3.

Samsung was sweet to give us two lovely devices in this event in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress. First the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and now Galaxy S II; The later will be running on Gingerbread and will be released on either T-Mobile or AT&T.

The phone is bringing a dual-core processor of Samsung’s very own; Orion with 1 GB Ram, a 4.3 inch WVGA screen of 800 x 480 resolution and Super AMOLED screen providing instant access to Samsung’s entertainment section of music, e-reading, games and social networking services.

JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung said at the MWC “In 2011, we will take Samsung’s leadership in Speed, Screen and Content to a whole new level.  With the GALAXY S II, Samsung wants to set the new standard of quality viewing on mobile, powerful performance, and slim and modern design.”

Other specs of this awesome phone include the 16 GB or 32 GB on board storage depending which phone you choose for yourself. It packs an 8 MP camera with 1080p full HD recording, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ and Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth and the usual accelerometer and proximity sensor.

For now there is no news when the phone will be released but it will come in black color.
