HTC Merge will probably be launched in November 11th
October 10th, 2010 by admin in HTC
HTC Merge also known as Lexicon is an Android powered phone, and we are going to see it on Verizon later this year. We saw the first image of the HTC Merge back in August, and we also saw it in Verizon inventory. Then after a few days, HTC Merge made its way through FCC with Verizon branding, and then later we saw the press shot of it. Recently we saw a dozen of HTC Merge photos, and we also saw the leaked guide and a little review of the phone. And now, another image of the Merge is leaked, but this time we also have some information on the release date of the phone. Droid Life is saying that Verizon will launch the HTC Merge on November 11th, and that’s all they know at the moment. Well, we have seen a lot of leaked images of the Merge, may be the day is near when Verizon will officially launch it, and if the phone is launching on November 11th, then may be Verizon will announce it officially in few days or week. What do you people think?
HTC Desire HD will be available soon
October 8th, 2010 by admin in HTC
HTC’s Desire HD is a phone we’d like to see come to the U.S. as soon as possible! Most likely you’ve heard of the EVO 4G for Sprint, which is very similar to this phone, but with a few additional perks. With the addition of HTC’s Sense 2.0 Cloud features, as well as other recent updates throughout Sense, this phone is sure to leave us drooling for a launch date.

October 7th, 2010 by admin in HTC
Mobile operators Sprint and T-Mobile are both launching versions of the LG Optimus smartphones, hoping to attract new smartphone customers by lowering one of the primary barriers to entry: pricing. Rather than including every possible bell and whistle in the device, the LG Optimus is designed to be an inexpensive starter smartphone for folks upgrading from less expensive feature phones…but still packing the power and flexibility of Android

Verizon’s dual-mode HTC slider leaked by FCC
September 6th, 2010 by admin in HTC
Thanks to a recent FCC listing, we may have a pretty good idea of what Verizon Wireless’s next big Android phone might be. Listed as the HTC PD42100, the slider phone boasts what appears to be a 4-inch screen with a spacious keyboard spread across four rows. A quick glance and one might mistake it for the upcoming G2 from T-Mobile.
According to the FCC documents, the PD42100 features support for CDMA and GSM networks, EV-DO Rev. A 3G, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/), and Bluetooth. The back of the phone shows that it has a removable battery, a microSD expansion slot, and a camera with a LED flash. There’s no mention of the processor and memory, but I’d guess that we’ll get at least a 1GHz chip with 512MB RAM/ROM. Based on HTC’s recent history, I’d expect the camera to be in the range of 8 megapixels.
Don’t be surprised if this handset appears by the end of the year. Verizon hasn’t released an HTC phone since the Droid Incredible back in May and fans have been begging for an Evo-style phone with a QWERTY keybaord. The last few weeks have seen a handful of HTC code-names leaked. Look for some of these to start getting paired up to FCC filings and "in the wild" pictures. Right now, I’ll go with HTC Blitz for the PD42100. Call it a hunch.
HTC Desire Now Available via US Cellular
August 28th, 2010 by admin in HTC
HTC Desire is one of the top rated smart phones today and is sometimes billed as an iPhone Killer. Today, this powerful creation from the Taiwanese developer HTC finally arrives in the US with the help of US Cellular. This is the second out of the five Android phones that US Cellular promised to launch this year. US Cellular plans to release Samsung Galaxy S sometime in October followed by two unnamed LG smart phones shortly after. US Cellular currently sells the HTC Desire with a price tag of $199.95 with a two-year contract and a $70 mail-in rebate.
The HTC Desire features a strong 1 GHz Snapdragon processor with a 5 megapixel camera and a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen that renders images in vivid detail. The units are currently powered by Android 2.1 Eclair with HTC Sense. Its specs also boasts a variety of connectivity options such as the 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS , EDGE, and 3G support.
Edward Perez, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Operations of US Cellular said: “With 160,000 Android-powered phones activated each day, there’s no question that they are among the hottest phones on the market right now.” HTC Desires from US Cellular are preloaded with apps such as My Contacts Backup, City ID, Tone Room Deluxe and Your Navigator Deluxe. To sweeten up the deal, US cellular also added an Overage Protection a Battery Swap along with the phone’s warranty.
HTC Desire got rave reviews from various websites. Techradar UK gave this phone 5 out of 5 stars and was chosen as a choice smart phone over the iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S. For a more detailed review check out this video from Mobile Burn:
HTC to Sell Smartphones Under Its Own Name in China: Report
July 27th, 2010 by admin in HTC
Taiwan-based HTC will begin selling smartphones in China under its own name, as it begins a big campaign to create a brand presence, the Wall Street Journal reported July 27.
Until now, HTC has sold phones in China under the Dopod brand, but that will change with four new devices scheduled to arrive in September or October. According to the Journal, these include two touch-screen models, one a very high-end phone running a Windows Mobile operating system and the other a midrange handset running Google’s Android OS.
“We believe China is a good market for smartphone development,” HTC CEO Peter Chou told the Journal. “Consumers from China will love this kind of product because Internet penetration here is pretty high.”
Chou added that a strong percentage of consumers can afford a smartphone, though HTC has yet to set pricing for the new handsets.
HTC similarly worked—quite successfully—to build brand awareness in the United States, after first arriving under the badges of other brands. Some of the first HTC-made phones for American consumers were branded under the T-Mobile name. These have included the G1—the first Android-running handset in the United States—and later the carrier’s line of myTouch phones. Google’s Nexus One is also an HTC phone.
HTC has since released the HD2, the Droid Eris and—the phone thought to have solidified its standing as a major player in the U.S. market—the Droid Incredible. Following these were the first 4G-enabled handset in the United States, the Evo 4G. The Android operating system is widely considered a growing rival to Apple’s dominance in the United States, and a good part of HTC’s success here has come with its alignment with Google.
“HTC has gone from the edge to the cutting edge,” Pund-IT Research analyst Charles King told eWEEK at the time of the Droid Incredible’s launch. “It stands as evidence that the game should not be handed to Apple by default. There are people out there with great ideas and great design concepts, and with Android they have an OS to build those on.”
In 2009, HTC sold 11.7 million phones—a figure that research firm IDC has forecast to zoom to more than 60 million by 2012. Currently, 80 percent of HTC’s revenue comes from sales in Europe and United States, but China is poised to skew that figure. By the end of this year, HTC handset sales in China are expected to rise 50 percent over 2009′s total and continue heading upward.
“It’s interesting. Before we’ve come to do anything, we already have pretty high [brand] awareness,” Chou told the Journal, referring to HTC devices that have arrived in China through the gray market. Because of these phones, Chou estimates that 8 percent of China smartphone users are already familiar with the HTC brand—a good head start on the road the company is headed down.
What the gray market can’t offer, Chou added, is good services for consumers, which will definitely be part of the HTC strategy.

T-Mobile G1 Blaze rumors begin to swirl
July 26th, 2010 by admin in HTC, t-mobile
When you look at the high-end Android phones available today, you might notice that there are relatively few devices with sliding QWERTY keyboards.
Aside from the forthcoming Droid 2 and Samsung Epic 4G, there are no other devices with a 1GHz processor and a physical keyboard. However, there are rumors that HTC and T-Mobile will also have a device to add to the bunch.
The phone, according to rumors, is expected to arrive with a 1GHz processor, a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, and HTC Sense user interface. According to the rumors, it will also be HSPA+ capable, which means it will support T-Mobile’s fastest 3G technology. Adding fuel to the fire, the carrier recently wrote to its Twitter account to tell its followers that it will unveil its first HSPA+ smartphone later this summer.
According to an Engadget source, the phone could carry the name of G1 Blaze when it debuts, but it’s also been called the HTC Vision. To add to the confusion, a recently leaked T-Mobile road map shows a device the carrier calls the HTC Vanguard that it expects to launch in September, so I expect these to be one in the same. The fall launch would come right around the two-year anniversary of the original T-Mobile G1, so the G1 Blaze name also makes sense.
The rest of the phone’s hardware is unknown at this point, but I imagine we’re looking at it running Android version 2.1 or 2.2 with an 8-megapixel camera, a microSD card expansion, and the requisite support for Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. With T-Mobile busy building out its superfast data network, I’d love to see this phone show up with a front-facing camera.
