Sony Ericsson Shows Elm and Hazel

Sony Ericsson has shown off two new phones, called the “Elm” and the “Hazel”, both of which are claimed to be more environmentally friendly than their other handsets.

“The Sony Ericsson Elm and the Sony Ericsson Hazel phones offer consumers a green choice without compromising on features or fun. These mobile phones also give consumers a better voice quality experience, with Noise Shield, Clear Voice and Intelligent Volume Adaptation. Both phones offer an easy-to-use social networking experience featuring the Widget Manager application, which allows users access to their social networking page via the stand-by screen and quickly switch between different social networks.” said Fortunй Alexander, Global Marketing Director at Sony Ericsson.

Both handsets are fairly generic models, with a 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera, over the air backup service and support for A-GPS mapping and navigation services.

Both support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and HSPA 2100/900. The Sony Ericsson Elm phone will be available from Q1 2010. The Sony Ericsson Hazel will be available from Q2 2010.

Sony Ericsson C905 would be a 8.1-Megapixel Cybershot Phone?

According to the Unofficial Sony Ericsson blog, the upcoming C905 phone will be the flagship Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone. Here’s why it’s so good. There’s a 8.1-megapixel camera with “auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos.” There’s also location tagging with GPS, an accelerometer, 2.4-inch QVGA display, TV-out, Wi-Fi, DLNA support, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 transfers. Yeah, sounds pretty insane. We’ll see if this one turns out to be true and whether they can fit all of this tech into that small body.

AT&T Launches Sony Ericsson Z750a with 3G

AT&T has officially launched the Sony Ericsson Z750a clamshell cellphone in grey, purple, and pink today. The Z750a is Sony Ericsson’s first handset to support dual-band WCDMA (850/1900MHz) on AT&T’s high-speed 3G network. This clamshell features a smooth mirror finish with a hidden OLED display on the outside. Inside there is a 2.2″ QVGA display capable of 262k colors.

The Sony Ericsson Z750a features a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, and a memory stick micro (M2) card slot allows for plenty of storage expansion. Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets is also on board, in addition to an FM radio tuner and speakerphone. The Z750a’s web browser supports full HTML web pages, which should make it easy to really enjoy that HSDPA data connection, as well.

The Sony Ericsson Z750a is available now from AT&T Wireless, priced at $49.99 with a 2-year commitment and mail-in rebate.
