Samsung SCH-R910 4G LTE phone passed to the FCC

MetroPCS has quietly expanded its 4G LTE network to cover 13 markets across the US, including New York City, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Today, Samsung passed a device called the SCH-R910 through the FCC that will leverage MetroPCS’s growing 4G coverage.

First Indian HSPA+ Android Phone will be launched in India by the Olive

In end-December 2010, we reported that Olive Telecom promised to bring the Google Android 2.2 OS based phone range in India. Sticking to its words, Olive Telecom is going to launch India’s first HSPA+ (Evolved High Speed Packet Access and technically 4G) phone running Android on February 9. We’ve managed to sneak in an invite for the conference. However, there are very less details on the Olive’s Android device specifications and form factor as of now.

HTC Pyramid Will Be A T-Mobile 4.3″ Dual-Core Android Phone

Sometimes a rumor comes along that is just to good to pass up running, even so it’s still very much just a rumor without much to back it up. Uncovering details on the upcoming HTC “Pyramid,” went a little smoother when I did a little asking around and discovered our friends at Androidandme had also heard the same story, albeit from a separate source. While uncovering the codename was slightly easier than uncovering the details for so many of you, a 4.3″ Android phone is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Thankfully the folks at Androidandme were able to uncover some details and we can say that we expect a 1.2 Ghz dual-core, 4.3″ qHD screen, 4G capable Android phone that should please all T-Mobile Android fans who have been waiting, wishing and hoping for a larger screen. Other than this small amount of info we’re short on details, specs and at this time, we’re running with a late Q2 launch date.

BlackBerry Sedona for Verizon has been spotted

The forthcoming Blackberry Curve series phone, the Sedona has been spotted for Verizon with a light-up trackpad. The new shots confirm that this is the CDMA variation of the next-gen Curve, which is also be accompanied by a GSM version dubbed Apollo on launch. The shots included below show the device running Blackberry’s next phone OS 6.1, which reportedly still needs to be debugged before an expected May launch at Blackberry World.
